Author Robert Bracken

Robert Bracken spent nine years collecting and compiling the interviews on which the book is based. He has published articles in magazines such as Esprit de Corps and is an associate member of the Candadian Fighter Pilots' Association and the Canadian Air Force Association. He was an advisor to the Toyal Air Force and Imperial War Museum regarding the restoration of two Spitfires, and is responsible for these planes now bearing their original Toyal Canadian Air Force markings. He resides in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Ron Lowry created the colour artwork for the book. (They all appear in the Spitfire decal pages of this website when you move your move over the name of each pilot.) His aviation paintings are much prized by collectors worldwide and his scratch-built models may be seen on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, and at the National Aviation Museum in Ottawa.
